Neolithic Northern entrance - click here for details

By 1992, most of the flat area of the hill had been explored. However, surprises continued to show up. CH92 concentrated on the terrace north of the Sacred Circle, down the slope towards the view. This contained the Short Mound (above) - apparently a late- or post-Roman copy of the Long Mound. CH93 revisited this monument. We also excavated further East along the terrace, towards the Northern entrance of the Neolithic enclosure.
