The final area of the Mound to be dug. This location is pretty much in the middle of the monument, bridging the gap between the 1987-89 cutting and the 1992 cutting. The whole of the Mound from this photo section right up to the fence in the distance had already been dug. This cutting showed the end of the second phase of the Cairn and Long Mound, just beyond the central baulk.
