After the huge cutting of 1990-91 and the many discoveries there of the numerous phases of the Long Mound and its preceding monuments, it made sense to keep heading along the mound from the circle end towards the SE. This was the next segment. The central baulk marks the approximate end of the first phase of the Cairn and Long Mound.
