Perhaps the key feature in this cutting towards the top of the slope into the Long Mound valley is the series of pits, such as F07929, F07931 and F08737. These appear to date to after all the Neolithic settlement, and have been quickly refilled. They may be related in some way to ritual activity at the Long Mound.
