The obvious entrance way into the Neolithic settlements in O6/P6 leads into this area, which is at the start of Long Mound valley. Once the deep layers of the Mound itself had been removed, the soft gull bedrock here preserved clear evidence of a fence-lined trackway leading along to the earlier cairn and shrine.
