W96

The NW end of the Long Mound revealed some very significant ritual structures. The Sacred Circle, which appears to have been the last of them was removed to reveal an earlier platform, probably with a structure on it. In the SW of the square, the bank of the Neolithic causewayed enclosure could be seen.
